Make cow national animal, says Islamic body chief
Islamic body Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind president Maulana Syed Arshad Madani on Wednesday said the government should give national animal status to the cow. Stating there was an “atmosphere of fear” due to cow vigilantes, Madani added, “We respect the religious sentiments of our Hindu brethren but no one can be allowed to take law and order into their own hands.”
